"TV, what do I need?
Tell me who to believe!
What's the use of autonomy when a button does it all?
TV, what should I see?
Tell me who should I be?"

If Barack Obama is elected, we will live in a country which has a single party in power. The same party which currently dominates our legislature - how'd that work out for us?

But they don't talk about that on TV so we don't seem to be thinking about that.

According to TV, this election is not about corporate greed and government corruption and the dangers of a uniparty government, but is about which candidate has a better plan for government-run health care and a government-run economy.

Here's something you won't hear on TV - the problem with health care is that we're too sick and "everything" gives us cancer, yet the government says that everything it allows in our food is safe. The problem with the economy is that we all spent more money than we could afford, especially the government.

Throwing more government at these problems won't make them better, it will make them worse.

However, according to the corporate-owned media Barack Obama should be our president, and according to Barack Obama, the solution is to give our government more power and more money. According to Joe Biden, we just need to be more patriotic and pay more taxes. According to Congress, we need to give hundreds of billions of dollars to corporations which were run into the ground by multi-millionaire CEOs who take spa vacations that cost more than the average American earns in 10 years. According to the majority of economists who are registered Democrats, this is a good idea.

See a pattern here?

My Dad taught me this question: Can you name one thing, other than the military, that the government does well?

In stark contrast to Obama's spending spree, Sen. McCain says we need to impose a spending freeze on everything but our most vital priorities, examine all our agencies from top to bottom and eliminate waste and redundancy, and clean the corruption out of our government. On top of that, he chose a running mate who actually has a record of cleaning up corruption!

That sounds about right to me.

This is supposed to be the "Dems Year," but apparently millions of people agree with Sen. McCain and not Obama. We should be very thankful for that. According to the Constitution, the power of government belongs to We The People. Political parties are granted no powers by the Constitution. Neither are special interest groups, the mainstream media, corporations, and certainly not foreign countries.

Obama wants to give more power to every one of those, but he says he'll give more power to the people.

Riiiiiiiiiiight!

Do you feel more empowered as our government grows larger?

How secure do you feel right now in your own life?

How do you feel about the government spending hundreds of billions (so far) on bailing out millionaires, while giving (some) citizens a few hundred dollars? (By the way, do you still have any of that money left?)

Do you feel more safe in your mortgage since the "bailout?" Are your investments more safe?

How do you feel about the government having trillions of dollars of debt, much of it to foreign countries?

How do you feel about seeking out the lowest price on everything you buy, only to learn later that those profits further enrich and empower people and governments (foreign and our very own) who truly do not care about you, and who put your neighbors out of work?

How do you like what the government has "done" so far with our economy? What do you honestly think it will be like if we end up with government mandated health care? Who are you going to vote for?

The TV tells us that it's all about blame.

Who do you blame?

The Republicans?

The Democrats?

Congress?

George Bush?

John McCain?

Barack Obama?

Al Gore?

Karl Rove?

Leprechans?

Fairies?

Here's what I do when I want to figure it out - I look in the mirror.

We elected every one of our politicians into office. How many of us are going to vote for the only candidates who can clean up the corruption?

We are the ones who buy food with chemicals that make us sick. How many of us pay more for organic food to avoid the 15,000 chemicals and additives that make us sick and weaken our immune systems, requiring us to need more health care than we would if we were healthy?

Eight out of every ten Americans who still have a job work for small businesses. How many of us have bought something from a small business this week, instead of a large corporation?

We say we care about American jobs. How many of us pay a higher price for a product made in the U.S.?

Oh, I know ... "we can't afford it." I heard that on TV.

Well, we had better start thinking about what we spend our money on and who we vote for.

I am voting for John McCain for President because the closer this election comes, the closer Sen. McCain gets to identifying the true problems in our government - corruption, corrpution, and corruption. How did that happen? - our own apathy. Every time I ask myself who is really to blame for our problems, I look in the mirror. Of course, if Obama wins, I can just admire my own image in the windows of buildings owned by the government as I'm standing in lines for bread, fuel, healthcare, and of course government-run banking services. Oh goodie!
